Proper vacuuming is the easiest and most effective way to keep your carpet clean. Regular vacuuming can also have the largest impact on the air you breathe.
To get the most out of your vacuuming regime, remember these tips:
1. Vacuum frequently for long-term beauty. Walking on soiled carpet allows the soil particles to work their way below the surface of the pile making them far more difficult to remove. Frequent vacuuming removes these particles from the surface before problems occur. And remember, slow and steady does the trick!
2. Extend the life of your carpet with a quality vacuum. An inexpensive machine may remove surface dirt but will not effectively remove the hidden dirt and particles embedded in the pile. Ensure that your vacuum conforms to the highest industry standards by checking that it is certified through the Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI).
3. Select the best vacuum for your type of carpet. It is recommended that you use vacuums with a rotating brush/beater that agitates the carpet pile and loosens soil for removal. For carpet with a thick loop pile or a long pile, it is recommended that you use a suction only vacuum so it does not agitate the pile.
